The Ohio Supreme Court has scheduled a new execution date for the man who survived a botched attempt in 2009. 62-year-old Romell Broom is now scheduled to die by lethal injection on June 17, 2020. Broom is only the second U.S. inmate to survive an execution after the process began. The state stopped the procedure after two hours when executioners failed to find a usable vein following 18 attempts. Broom's attorneys say he has important appeals still pending.
