CCS Moving To Fire Employee Who Posted LGBTQ Threat

A spokesperson says the Columbus City Schools are working to fire the employee who posted a threat against the lives of LGBTQ community members on social media ahead of this weekend's Columbus Pride festival. The district says it does not tolerate discrimination, and is working to terminate the employment of 48-year-old Chris Dodds, an assistant supervisor. Dodds wrote “I hope this event turns out like the Boston Marathon a few year’s back.” He then used an anti-gay slur in saying LGBTQ members should be killed or relocated. Federal and local authorities continue to investigate. Police arrested four protesters during Saturday's pride parade for resisting arrest and refusing to leave the intersection of West Broad  and Front Streets. Protestors said they were calling attention to the police presence at the festival and what they say is a lack of space for minority LGBTQ persons. Organizers say the parade drew in excess of 500 thousand people.
