Clermont County To Sue Cardinal Health And Others Over Opioid Crisis

Ohio's Attorney General filed suit in June against five pharmaceutical manufacturers over the state's opioid epidemic. Now, Clermont County plans to file its own suit.  Commissioner David Painter says the county has hired a West Virginia law firm to hold Dublin-based Cardinal Health, McKesson, and Amerisource Bergen accountable for the opioid epidemic. He says those companies failed to stop sending prescription painkillers to the region when it became apparent there was a problem.

Painter says the companies distribute 85-percent of the drugs in the nation. The companies have yet to comment.
