CCS 'Final' Contract Offer To Teachers Includes Lower Pay Raises
Documents obtained by WCBE show the Columbus City Schools so-called 'final' contract offer to the teachers union gives instructors annual raises of 1.5 percent this year and 1 percent next year. Teachers are scheduled to vote Tuesday on the offer made by the district last week. Two years ago, the teachers contract included raises of 1.8 and 2.2 percent. The district says it has less money to spend on teacher pay because of cuts in state funding. The current offer does not keep pace with inflation, which is at 1.7 percent.
