The Knox County prosecutor says no criminal charges will be filed against the father of an infant killed last week by one of the family's dogs.
Prosecutor Chip McConville says after conferring with county sheriff's detectives and the county coroner there was no reason to believe the father of one-month-old Barrett Hagens "intended for his child to come to any harm." The county coroner said autopsy results show the child sustained extensive injuries, including puncture wounds to his head, that could only have come from a dog. Two pit bulls removed from the home have been euthanized.
