The School Employees Retirement System of Ohio will freeze cost-of-living increases for three years for 75 thousand beneficiaries, and is pushing for a similar change for 125 thousand more. The freeze will start in January. Fund officials say the change is designed  to address short- and long-term financial challenges. The system has more than 12 billion dollars in assets.
