Workers At Ohio Fuyao Plant Seek To Unionize

Workers at the Fuyao Glass America plant in Moraine are trying to unionize. Their request for a representation election with the National Labor Relations Board cites a pattern of unsafe workplace conditions, arbitrary policies and unfair and unequal treatment on the job. The United Auto Workers is assisting the effort. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has repeatedly found unsafe working conditions at the plant. The Chinese-based company says it has spent more than 7 million dollars on safety measures at the facility in recent months. It also says it has worked with regulators to make sure the plant meets requirements.
