CCS Property Auction Brings In Millions

Columbus City Schools officials say they raised roughly 21 million dollars by auctioning three properties on Tuesday. Children's Hospital paid nearly 15 million dollars for the old Africentric School property on Livingston Avenue, and plans to convert it to a parking lot. Clark Street Holdings purchased the former Fifth Avenue Elementary School for more than 5 million dollars. And Galbreath Properties bought the Maennerchor property near Stewart Elementary School for 460 thousand dollars. The revenue from the sales that must be approved by the school board is expected to go toward building maintenance and capital improvements projects.
