Columbus Police Kill Man Who They Say Made Threatening Gesture With Gun

Columbus police SWAT officers shot and killed a Franklinton man on Sunday after he allegedly made a "threatening gesture" with a handgun during a stand-off.

Police say they responded to the West State Street home on reports of a man firing shots into the ground. The man's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
