Health Officials Confirm First Ohioan Sickened By Melon-Related Salmonella Outbreak

The Ohio Department of Health says a 73-year-old Hancock County woman is the first state resident to contract salmonella from pre-cut melons.

The illness has sickened dozens of people in other states. The woman was hospitalized last month after her illness caused a complication that required surgery.
