Columbus police have yet to release the name of the man shot and killed by officers last night on the north side.
Police officials say the man was shot in an exchange of gunfire after officers responded to a report of an altercation near a hotel in the 4800 block of Sinclair Road. Police were not able to find the altercation, but found a vehicle belonging to someone wanted for kidnapping. The man was in a hotel room and police officials say he opened fire when officers knocked on the door.
