The Austin , Texas City Council Wednesday approved construction of a new 200-million dollar soccer stadium, clearing a hurdle in Columbus Crew SC owner Anthony Precourt's plan to move the team.
The council needed two meetings and hours of debate to agree on a stadium location on public land at McKalla Place, ten miles outside of downtown Austin. The City of Columbus and State of Ohio are both suing Precourt to block the move.
