Columbus Offering Bill Payment Assistance To Furloughed Federal Workers

The Columbus Department of Public Utilities will waive penalties for any furloughed federal employees living in the city who are unable to pay their utility bills due finacial hardship caused by the partial government shutdown.

The mayor's office says  furloughed workers needing assistance can call (614) 645-8276 or visit the walk-in payment office at 111 N. Front Street. They will also need to bring proof of employment, such as a pay stub or an employee ID badge.
