Former 5th Ave. Elementary School To Become Mixed-Use Development

Columbus City Schools

The site of the long-closed Fifth Avenue Elementary School could become a retail and housing complex.

Vision Development is in contract with the Columbus City Schools to purchase  the property.  The school closed in 2010.  According to the developer, the site will feature a five story building with offices, retail, and over 100 apartments.  Plans also call for 44 condos built in a dozen buildings on the three-acre site.  The city has approved the plans, and work is expected to begin this summer.
