Columbus voters will choose four City Council members this November, and a primary in May appears likely.
Ten candidates filed petitions to run on Wednesday. Nine certified candidates are needed for a primary. Incumbent Democrats Elizabeth Brown and Emmanuel Remy will run with two placeholders who will be replaced by appointees, including Shayla Favor. Democrats Liliana Rivera Baiman, Tiffany White, Al Edmondson, Scott Singratsomboune, Nasandra Wright and Joe Motil are running as challengers. No Republican candidates filed to run. Mayor Andy Ginther filed his paperwork Monday and is running unopposed.
