Records Show Rosenberger Purchased Expensive Home After Resigning Ohio House Speakership

Ohio Public Radio

Public records show  former Republican Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger purchased a 330 thousand dollar house in Warren County after resigning amid an FBI probe of his activities with payday lending lobbyists.

Records show Rosenberger formed a corporation October 10 and bought the four-bedroom home October 31. His private mortgage issuer was incorporated between those dates. Rosenberger's attorney says he's confident the purchase isn't related to the investigation.  His 2018 financial disclosure form listed him owing money to an entity controlled by Republican donor and heiress Ginni Ragan, who rented him a Columbus condo when he was speaker.
