The State Medical Board Of Ohio Wednesday postponed a vote on adding anxiety and autism spectrum disorder to the list of qualifying conditions for purchasing medical marijuana.
Board President Doctor Michael Schottenstein said it will give two new board members time to consider expert reports. A state panel last month recommended anxiety and autism be added to the list of 21 conditions. The board also voted against adding opioid use disorder, depression and insomnia as qualifying conditions, which the panel did not recommend after hearing from experts. More than 30 thousand people with physician recommendations have registered to buy cannabis. About half have made purchases since licensed dispensaries began opening in January.
