Following Arrest, Jackets' Milano Accepts Qualifying Offer

Cleveland Monsters

The Columbus Blue Jackets said Monday restricted free-agent forward Sonny Milano accepted a qualifying offer, eight days after he was charged with assault in New York city.

The one year, two-way deal is worth nearly 960 thousand dollars.  Milano and 22-year-old Colorado Avalanche forward A.J. Greer were charged with third-degree assault July 7 following an early-morning dispute with an unidentified man over a bar tab. Both are due in court September 4.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
