Buckeye Football Legend Passes Away

Former Ohio State University football player Howard "Hopalong" Cassady died Thursday at his home in Florida at the age of 85. 

His family has not released a cause of death. Cassady won the Heisman Trophy in 1955 and played in the pros with the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and Philadelphia Eagles. His funeral will be held in Columbus. Arrangements are pending.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
