Former OSU Assistant Coach Arrested For Violating Protection Order

Delaware County Sheriff's Office

Former Ohio State University assistant football coach Zach Smith was arrested Thursday after an altercation with staff at Scioto Ridge Elementary School.

Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies say Smith tried to pick up his children but was told he was in violation of a civil protection order sought by his former wife last year. Deputies confirmed that and then made the arrest. Smith was fired last July after he was charged with criminal trespassing following a dispute with her.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
