OHP Reports Increase In Xmas Holiday Traffic Deaths

The Ohio Highway Patrol is reporting an increase in traffic fatalities over the Christmas holiday period.

Twelve people were killed in eight crashes Tuesday and Wednesday, up from eleven over a longer holiday period a year ago. Alcohol was a factor in two fatal crashes, and seat belts were not used in three. Franklin County was second in the state with 144 holiday crashes.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
