Portman Says He Opposes U.S. Attacks On Iran's Cultural Sites

Associated Press

Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio says he is opposed to American attacks on Iranian cultural sites as a response to that country's retaliation for the drone strike that killed a top general.

Portman made the comments during a conference call with reporters:

President Trump made the threat after pro-Iran groups vowed revenge. Iran is home to 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which  are protected by international agreements.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
