Columbus Area's Jobless Rate For January Was 4.2 percent

SHUTTERSTOCK.COM

State officials say the unemployment rate in central Ohio was the lowest among metro regions in January, at 4.2 percent.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says rates in all counties and metro areas rose due to the loss of holiday jobs. The data was collected before concerns about the coronavirus. Eight counties had unemployment rates at 4 percent or lower, including  Delaware, Union and Franklin.
