Akron schools superindendent David James says he'll retire at the end of the upcoming school year.
James has spent nearly 30 years in the Akron Public Schools, including the past 12 as superintendent. He applied for Columbus Schools' superindentent job last time it was open in 2018. A search for a successor is underway.
