As the coronavirus positivity rate in Columbus continues to improve, Columbus City Schools are getting ready to reopen buildings for at least some of their students.

Superintendent Talisa Dixon announced Tuesday that students who opted for blended learning programs, with two days in the classroom and three days online instruction, will start coming back in the later half of October.

Students in pre-K through 3rd grade will return October 19th, 4th and 5th graders will come back October 26th, and 5th, 6th and 7th graders will start November 2nd.  High school students will continue with online classes.

Dixon says school nurses are already heading back to buildings, and teachers will return October 14.
