Nearly three-fourths ths of registered voters in Franklin County cast a ballot in the 2020 general election, according to election officials.

The county Board of Elections has certified 636,056 people cast a ballot.  The state Senate race between Republican incumbent Stephanie Kunze and Democrat Crystal Lett is headed to a recount, as is the tax levy for Gahanna Jefferson Schools. Election officials said it passed by 76 votes after counting absentee and provisional votes.  Under Ohio law, an automatic recount is triggered if the difference is less than one half of one percent.  The levy will provide more than 200 million dollars over the next four-decades for a new high school and additions to middle and elementary buildings. According to certified results from the Pickaway County Board of Elections, two-term Sheriff Robert Radcliff narrowly lost his bid for a third term to retired Circleville Police Sergeant Matthew Hafey.  The board says 331 votes separated the two.
