toledoblade.com

State health officials Sunday reported 7,729 new cases of COVID-19 and 21 new deaths.  The state has now over 400 thousand cases and nearly 64 hundred deaths. The oldest inmate on Ohio's death row has died, and a prison spokesperson says it was likely due to the coronavirus. Seventy-nine-year-old James Frazier died November 19 at the Franklin Medical Center in Columbus. In recent months, his attorneys had sought to block execution, saying his dementia meant had little idea where he was. Frazier had been sentenced to death in 2005 for killing 49-year-old Mary Stevenson during a robbery in March 2004.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
