Attorneys for 26 people arrested during police brutality protests in Columbus in May have filed a motion in federal court to stop police from using “unlawful force” if and when protestors demonstrate this Friday against Casey Goodson Junior's death. The attorneys say such protests are developing organically, rather than through a leadership structure, and the defendants are not in position to control what happens, particularly if officers provoke protestors by the use of excessive and retaliatory force. City officials have yet to comment.
