Eight Indicted In Bowling Green State Hazing Death

Prosecutors say eight people have been indicted in the alcohol-related death of an Ohio college student found unconscious after a fraternity party.

Six of those indicted Wednesday are charged with involuntary manslaughter. Twenty-year-old Bowling Green State University sophomore Stone Foltz was found unconscious by roommates and taken to a hospital in early March. He died three days later. Foltz' blood alcohol level was .394.

An investigation found that Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity members had forced pledges to each drink an entire bottle of alcohol during an off-campus event.

Those indicted Wednesday are:

  • 20-year old Jacob Krinn, of Delaware, Ohio
  • 20- year old Daylen Dunson, of Cleveland
  • 23-year old Troy Hendrickson, of Grove City
  • 21-year old Canyon Caldwell of Grove City
  • 21-year old Niall Sweeney, of Erie, Pennsylvania
  • 19-year old Jarrett Priezel of Olean, New York
  • 21-year old Aaron Lehane, of Loveland, Ohio
  • 21-year old Benjamin Boyers, or Sylvania, Ohio

Other charges against some of the eight include reckless homicide, felonious assault, hazing and violating underage alcohol laws. The defendants have summonses to appear in court May 19, and may be subject to arrest if they fail to appear.
The BGSU chapter was suspended by the fraternity. Pi Kappa Alpha has now been permanently banned from the school.
