Lawsuit Filed On Behalf Of Nurse Killed In Medical Chopper Crash

Facebook

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a nurse killed in 2019 when a medical helicopter crashed during snowy weather in Vinton County. The family of Rachel Cunningham alleges Survival Flight accepted the assignment without considering the risks. Cunningham, fellow flight nurse Bradley Hayes, and pilot Jennifer Topper were killed while attempting to transport a patient to Mount Carmel's hospital in Grove City.  Holzer Health System is also named in the suit for allegedly failing to notify Survival Flight that other companies rejected the assignment.  Neither defendant has commented.
