Prognosis Ohio Candidate Series: Crystal Lett, Candidate for State Senate (16th District)

This week, Dan talks with Crystal Lett—a native of Hilliard who’s running for the Ohio Senate in District 16. She has been a case manager at North Central Mental Health (NCMH) and is an advocate for supporting those with mental illness, addiction, disability, and more.

In the episode, Dan and Lett discuss her policy platform, which includes expanding Medicaid, lowering prescription drug prices, protecting CHIP and children’s health programs, increasing public health awareness, and ending the opioid epidemic.

Dr. Dan Skinner is Associate Professor of Health Policy in the Department of Social Medicine at Ohio University, Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, on the Dublin, Ohio campus. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from the City University of New York. Skinner teaches and researches about, as well as advocates for increased access to health care, especially for underserved populations, as well as various aspects of social determinants that affect the health of communities, in Ohio and beyond.
