Sandusky County Prosecutor Resigns

portclintonnewsherald.com

The Sandusky County prosecutor who was accused of sexually harassing female employees before pleading guilty to a lesser charge has resigned from office.

Republican Tim Braun sent in his resignation Friday, effective January 21st. The move comes after a civil suit was filed earlier this month by four women seeking his immediate removal from his position. The Sandusky County Republican Party voted in December to ask Braun to resign immediately. Ohio's governor and attorney general, both Republicans,  had been pressuring Braun to step down as well.  He faced a hearing next week as part of their attempt to remove him from office. Braun pleaded guilty to negligent assault in early December as part of a plea deal that allowed him to keep his salary through next June but also barred him from working in his office.
