Militias

The threat of militia extremist groups increased last year and is expected to continue to be heightened throughout 2021, U.S. intelligence agencies reported.

"The far-right remains highly mobilized and extremely dangerous," with threat numbers as high as in the years before the Oklahoma City bombing, according to an expert at Southern Poverty Law Center.

Those indicted have ties to what the Justice Department calls "a paramilitary organization focused on recruitment of current and former military, law enforcement, and first responder personnel."
