Governor Mike DeWine

A small committee of legislators could overrule the Ohio governor’s health orders under a bill approved Wednesday by the state Senate that marks the latest effort by GOP lawmakers to restrict the governor’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rick Hodges, Executive in Residence at Ohio University and former Director of the Ohio Department of Health talks with Dan Skinner about Ohio's response to the COVID19 pandemic. Topics include differences between the current moment with COVID19 and Ohio's experience with ebola during Hodges' time at ODH; the frustrating politics of the current moment; and the federal response (or lack thereof) to COVID19.

On this week’s episode Dan Skinner and his Co-Producer Mark Frantz talk with Mikey Sorboro—owner of Mikey’s Late Night Slice—about the legal battle over the 10pm restaurant curfew that Mikey and other local restaurant owners fought at the end of July. DeWine's false positive test for COVID-19, efforts to push back against misinformation about COVID-19 testing and vaccines, and school reopening discussions.

Dan Skinner talks with  Dr. Sam Nobilucci, a 2nd year resident at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio, about staying at home, social distancing, and preparations for the coming COVID19 wave. See some of Dr. Nobilucci's Facebook posts on social distancing and staying at home here.
