Tressel Applies To Become Interim UA President

Cleveland.com

Former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel has applied to become interim president of the University of Akron. The school says he's among 19 applicants. Tressel has worked as a UA administrator for two years. He was  forced to resign from Ohio State in the wake of the memorabilia scandal that led to NCAA sanctions. In his cover letter to UA trustees, Tressel suggests himself as an interim leader who knows the school and its challenges and could help in the transition from Current President Luis Proenza, who is leaving in June.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
