Governor Signs Toxic Algae Bill

Toledo Blade

Ohio Governor John Kasich has signed into law new rules designed to cut down on the pollutants feeding algae growth in Lake Erie. The rules are in response to the blooms that contaminated the drinking water in Toledo last summer. One requires Northwest Ohio farmers to change how they store manure. Another ends the dumping of dredged sediment in Lake Erie within five years.
