Sales Tax Holiday In Effect Now And Through Weekend

You might see more cars in mall parking lots this weekend.

Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles explains one reason why.

Many Ohioans are getting their kids ready to go back to school, shopping for school supplies, new clothes and more. This weekend,….today, tomorrow and Sunday…..those items will cost parents a little less because there won’t be any sales tax on many of them. A statewide sales tax holiday will allow parents to shop tax free for clothing, footwear, and back to school necessities. There is a $75 dollar limit on clothes and shoes and other restrictions on electronic items. Ohioans are expected to save $25 million over the next three days.
