Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther is now accepting applications from people who want to serve on his charter review commission. Ginther announced plans for the commission before voters on August 2nd rejected a plan to expand City Council and add ward representation. Ginther will choose three of the seven members of the panel. The committee will consider whether council should expand, changing the controversial appointment process, and whether to add ward representation. Ginther is not directly answering questions about whether he supports changing council. A charter review commission empaneled three years ago rejected ward representation.
