County Treasurer To Become BOE Director

Franklin County Treasurer Ed Leonard has been appointed to head the county Board of Elections. He takes over for William Anthony, who resigned last month following his indictment on charges of approving the falsified time sheets submitted by a board employee. Leonard served as deputy elections director between 1998 and 2001. Leonard lost his re-election bid for the treasurer's office in March. He starts on September 19, three days after he formally leaves his treasurer's position.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
