GOP Donor Enters Ohio's U.S. Senate Race

cleveland.com

An investment banker and generous Republican Party donor from Cleveland says he will run for U.S. Senate next year.  Mike Gibbons' candidacy sets up a primary with State Treasurer Josh Mandel for the chance to unseat Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown. The 65-year-old Gibbons says he brings business experience to the campaign and ideas for growing the economy and fixing health care. Gibbons says he's an economic conservative, but on social issues, is a "pro-people" person who's not dogmatic.
