Beavercreek Cop Says He Did Not See Crawford Threaten People

Beavercreek Police

One of the white Beavercreek police officers involved in the 2014 shooting of a black man inside of a store says he never saw any threats against shoppers.

The Dayton Daily News obtained a copy of Sean Williams' deposition. In it, Williams says  John Crawford III wasn't seen making threats with an air rifle as a 911 caller indicated.  Williams says Crawford was preparing to point that rifle at him when he opened fire.  The deposition is part of a federal wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Crawford family.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
