Jury Acquits Man Assaulted By Columbus Cop In Home Shooting

Franklin County Sheriff's Office

A Franklin County jury has acquitted the black man stomped by a white Columbus police officer last year of firing of a gun into a Maize Road home after threatening the occupants.

But the jury found 27-year-old Demarko Anderson guilty of carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing. Sentencing is scheduled for May 17. Anderson was assaulted by officer Zachary Rosen, whom the Columbus safety director fired but later was reinstated to his position by an arbitrator.
