The Marysville-based Scotts company says in a news release it has agreed to purchase Washington state-based Sunlight Supply Incorporated, America's largest distributor of hydroponics products.
The purchase price is 450 million dollars. Scotts has spent more than one billion dollars to purchase several hydroponics companies in recent years, allowing it tap into the legal marijuana business. A handful of states have legalized marijuana use, and Ohio's medical marijuana program is scheduled to launch in September.
