Newspaper Photographer Updates Lawsuit Against Clark County Deputy

newcarlislenews.net

An updated lawsuit claims a Clark County Sheriff's deputy should not have been armed when he shot a Springfield News-Sun photographer last year.

Andy Grimm's lawsuit now claims Jacob Shaw was not certified to carry a weapon and wasn't qualified to be alone during road patrol.  Shaw was cleared of criminal wrongdoing in the shooting, claiming he mistook Grimm's camera and tripod for a gun.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
