Judge Orders Mediation Of Pending Strauss-Related Lawsuits Against OSU

Ohio Public Radio

A federal judge has ordered mediation proceedings begin by the end of the month between Ohio State University and the plaintiffs in two lawsuits alleging the school failed to stop sexual misconduct decades ago by a team doctor.

The lawsuits were filed by Brian Garrett and some of the other atheletes who say the late Doctor Richard Strauss abused them. Ohio State has said the lawsuits weren't filed within the statute of limitations and should be dismissed.  Both sides must choose the mediators and how the process will work.
