Brown, Jordan Weigh-In On Trump's Emergency Declaration
White House senior advisor Stephen Miller says President Trump is prepared to issue the first veto of his term if Congress votes to disapprove of his declaration of a national emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Democrats are planning to introduce a resolution disapproving of the declaration. It is likely to pass Congress, with several Republican senators already indicating they would vote against Trump because they don't know where he intends to get the money. That's a point potential 2020 president candidate and current Democratic U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio made on CNN Sunday.
Meanwhile, Ohio Republican Congressman Jim Jordan told ABC on Sunday Trump is simply fulfilling a campaign promise.
The DEA has said most illegal drugs entering the U.S. come in through America's ports. Non-partisan observers say the so-called 'caravans' of migrants are mostly women and children and pose no danger to Americans. There do not yet appear to be enough votes to override a presidential veto.
