Sentencing is pending for the Columbus teen who pleaded guilty to a delinquency count of involuntary manslaughter Thursday after her boyfriend was shot and killed by an undercover Columbus police officer during an attempted robbery last year.
Police say 17-year-old Masonique Saunders played a role in the robbery that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Julius Tate Junior. Her supporters say it was the officer who killed Tate and Saunders is improperly being prosecuted. They held a rally outside of the courthouse on Thursday. Saunders also pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery as part of a plea bargain.
