The family of a 16-year-old boy killed last week by a Columbus police officer during an undercover theft investigation plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit.
Police say Julius Tate Junior was killed after robbing an undercover officer at gunpoint.The family says a witness told them Tate was unarmed and police led him out of a home, shot him, went back into the home and took a gun, claiming it belonged to him. Police dispute the claims.
