Group To Seek Funding From Local Voters For Light Rail Or Rapid Transit System

transitcolumbus.org

A public transit advocacy group is planning on trying to get Columbus voters in 2020 to approve funding for construction of a light rail or rapid-transit system.

The group TransitColumbus says it will ask for an increase in the sales tax that already funds the Central Ohio Transit Authority.  COTA has put light rail options before voters in the past, but they have been defeated.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
