LGBTQ Advocacy Group Announces Break From Stonewall Columbus

A local LGBTQ group is breaking off from the gay rights group Stonewall Columbus as division within the community continues.

TransOhio made the announcement Monday, citing a 14-year contentious history between the two groups. TransOhio officials say the group was created in response to Stonewall routinely excluding transgender people in programming. TransOhio also felt Stonewall was not doing enough to support the protestors arrested after the 2017 Pride parade.  Stonewall says its saddened by the move but its work will continue.
